Becoming a parent is one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys to ever be on. Parenthood is a constant balancing act of attending to our own selves so that we have the emotional energy and resources to give to our children. Seriously, this is a lot! But therapy can help.
I’m Danielle and I have been working with women, caregivers and young children for almost 13 years. Relationships are at the foundation of my work and I believe this is the key to healing and growth.
We were all children once ourselves and our early experiences, the things that happened or did not when we were younger, affect who we are today. It is not just the experience itself, it is in the meaning we make of them and the stories we tell ourselves that shape who we are, how we view the world and what we expect of ourselves and others in relationships.
Exploring our own stories can help us become more aware of the meaning behind our reactions and responses to our children’s needs and behaviors. I have seen the transformation that is possible firsthand when we explore and challenge these deeply held beliefs. This results in a healthier and stronger relationship with ourselves, our significant others, and our children.
Sometimes we know we want to parent differently but we aren’t always sure what that looks like or where to start. Being a parent is the best reason to take care of ourselves and therapy is a great place to start. I am here to hold a compassionate space and work along side of you as you pave the way for a new way of being as a human and as a parent.
Danielle currently accepts BCBS and self-pay clients.
IDEAL VACATION:
A good book, sand in my toes, the warmth of the sun, and a calm breeze while listening to the sound of the ocean waves.
FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND:
Getting out in nature, going for a drive with the windows down singing to some great music and spending time with my favorite people.
a life-changing piece of advice you’ve received:
Everyone is winging it. Everyone is trying to find their way like you are. You got this.
skill you’re currently working on:
Unapologetically prioritizing my own well-being. Spending more time doing the things that nourish and energize me.
FAVORITE part about being a therapist:
There’s nothing like the moment where something truly resonates with a client. That “aha!” moment where it just clicks. There’s beauty in holding space for someone to have the courage to move inward and tap into their most authentic selves. And in doing so, having a new experience of themselves, their child or their partner in a way that opens them up to a richer, happier and more peaceful life.
